Latest Updates from Our Project:

I'M GIVING IT ALL SHE'S GOT!
about 4 years ago – Thu, Oct 29, 2020 at 02:28:23 AM

Hells, never was one for speed, them Mythopoeians :D

This is the last time I hope to ever do this, truth be told. Not on this scale. Not if we want to keep growing.

Problems to solve, problems to solve.  And hopefully some good news on the horizon! A little bit more shipping today and a lot more tomorrow. Also, we launched the Kickstarter for the Wildsea.  It's our first foray into publishing, which for us means helping people make the best book they can.

November is just around the corner. Voting season!

Are you ready?

Shipping Underway!
about 4 years ago – Sat, Oct 24, 2020 at 02:50:21 PM

Hey Everyone,

Just a quick update this week: shipping is underway! Here's where we stand:

Almost all of those are domestic single issue #7's (USA). Next up will be Canadian / Oceania / ROW backers then bigger packages.

European fulfillment is ongoing. Communicating with all parties and hoping to move soon, but what we need to do is to do inventory, itemize, and palletize everything we have in Europe and drop it off at a freight forwarding service. Still lots of work ahead!

Hoping to take another chunk out of shipping on Friday. Will probably wrap up by Tuesday at least the NA / ROW orders if not this Friday.

Onwards!

Desertlands Postcards - Mythopoeia Webstore Link
about 4 years ago – Thu, Oct 15, 2020 at 09:34:07 AM

Hey Everyone -

https://www.mythopoeia.us/store/p62/desertlands-postcards.html

Here is the link if you'd like to purchase the postcards but already have your BackerKit locked. Shipping is added separately but adds up to be roughly the same price as it was in BackerKit.

Thanks for the enthusiasm!

Cheers,

The Desertlands Postcards
about 4 years ago – Thu, Oct 15, 2020 at 09:33:02 AM

Hey Everyone,

Here's where we're at with everything!

Postcards

So the postcards are done! I'll sprinkle the artwork throughout this post.

Umrat-Garabat Front - the final postcards have even borders. I'm snipping them from the PDF with a .5" bleed for convenience sake.

I'm quite pleased with how these came out and they were pretty fun to design. I got to go deep into the world of Skies of Fire and flesh out some corners that we've only hinted at thus far.

Umrat-Garabat Back. Election Season!

Once again, Dimitris Martinos' art elevates everything about the project to the next level. Working with him is always an immense pleasure as he imprints his vision onto the Skies of Fire universe.

Trinev Front.

The postcards are now at the printer and should be in my hands by Thursday. One will be included at random in every physical set. If you want to pickup a full set, you can do so on BackerKit

Trinev Back.

Shipping

That leads me to the second part of this update, shipping! So, I'm planning on printing a large number of shipping labels today. Along with that, you should get an email notification from Stamps.com letting you know that your package is on the day.

Farabas Front.

That said, I am not shipping out the packages today - my plan is to assemble all components I need to ship in an assembly line (including printed and paid labels) before shipping out all 600ish packages over two working days.

Farabas Back.

Plan is to ship either beginning Thursday or Monday, depending on the availability of my seasonal workers. And by seasonal workers, I mean my friends with some free time on their hands :D.

European Fulfillment

An update regarding European fulfillment: we are close to signing with a warehouse based in the Netherlands. That is not to say that we are close to fulfilling. Once the contract is signed, I have to somehow coordinate all of the inventory we have in London to be palletized and delivered to the warehouse, where they then have to be packed according to specifications.

Jaar Front.

Overall though, we are closer this week than we were last week. And we will be closer still the following. I'm sure there will be many growing pains in the journey ahead, but thank you for your patience as we continue to learn and grow.

Jaar Back. My personal favorite to write.

Everything Else

Continues at pace! We're on the last two pages of Skies of Fire #8 plus the cover. Then it's onto cleanup, then onto colors. Expect it Spring of 2021.

Tallin Front.

The Wildsea is going well! We have over 200 followers on the campaign and are now looking to launch October 28th. Will drop the trailer soon in a mailing list update.

Tallin Back. More lore in five postcards than Overwatch has put out in 4 years!

Glow is also progressing as well. I'll throw an update on the last campaign for that series to go into more details.

I've also got some new ideas cooking regarding the website and ecommerce, but early days yet for that stuff. Fingers crossed that it all works out. In the meantime, just got to keep the plates spinning!

Thus concludes the weekly update! As always, questions, comments, and discussion below!

Thanks!

Shipping Update: Polling Results!
about 4 years ago – Tue, Oct 06, 2020 at 01:29:52 AM

Happy Monday Everyone!

First of all thank you so much for communicating and participating in helping to make us better. Here are the results of the poll conducted by our European fans over the weekend:

The results!

Which, according to BackerKit, represents 65% of all European Backers:

65% voter turnout! Incredible! Your feedback and knowledge about European VAT was also incredible. Through the power of crowdfunding, we deduced that for most countries there is a threshold for VAT around $30 that gets pricey quickly!

Status: Pending

It occurs to me dealing with this stuff that there is always going to be a demand for companies that can navigate the complexities of trade.

Anyway, so work continues this week on European Fulfillment. We're going through contracts, terms, and talking to people. I am (re)learning what a manifest is and how to create one. I'm not going to ship the books from the USA to Europe until otherwise. This is all infrastructure we need to set in place anyway so it's all good in the neighborhood. I'll keep you updated as best I can. If anyone has any advice, I'm also all ears :D

Please let me know in the comments below if you voted SHIP IMMEDIATELY and would still like your goods. If enough people speak up, I will consider adding an opt in / out questionnaire to accommodate those who would like their book as soon as possible.

Wish me luck as I brave the treacherous waters of international trade!

The Wildsea: Coming Soon!

Speaking of, we officially announced The Wildsea throughout the four corners of the internet!

The link above links to the Quickstart Rules. All you need to run a game of your own! We're hoping to build upon the quick start and create a luscious hardcover book with all the Mythopoeia trimmings.

For more on the game, check out the official blog. Where you can read about the spiderfolk Tzelicrae and Longjaw vessels.

And of course here's a link to the Kickstarter Page. I'd like to launch on Halloween, but it falls on a Saturday this year. We'll see!

Okay, back to other work!
